Can you meet your family in the grave?

- When humans die, they will go to the grave or the realm of barzah. So, will you be able to meet other family members in the grave?
In the grave, humans will receive rewards in the form of blessings or torture from the grave. The blessings or torment of the grave are given according to his deeds during his life on earth.
Mohamad As'adi Bin Tawi in the book Astaghfirullah, The Pain of Grave Torture for Women explains that for people who receive the blessings of the grave, it is as if they are in the courtyard of heaven.
There, they can meet family, relatives and other people of the same faith. Those who do not suffer the torment of the grave (children, grandchildren, grandfathers, mothers, fathers, grandmothers, etc.), will definitely meet each other. Because, Allah SWT gathered them there.
They will be gathered in a very beautiful and noble place. In that place, they can meet to socialize with each other and share enjoyment. On the other hand, if there are people among them who are in the courtyard of hell, they will definitely not be able to meet each other. This is as explained in Surah An Nisa verse 69. Allah SWT says:
وَمَنْ يُّطِعِ اللّٰهَ وَالرَّسُوْلَ فَاُولٰۤoub يْقِيْنَ وَالشُّهَدَاۤءِ وَالصّٰلِحِيْنَ ۚ وَحَسُنَ اُولٰۤoub
Meaning: "Who obeys Allah and the Messenger (Prophet Muhammad), those are the people who (will be gathered) together with those who are bestowed with favors by Allah, (namely) the prophets, the lovers of truth, the martyrs , and pious people. They are the best friends."
Quoted from the book "Peeking at the Unseen Realm" by Aep Saepulloh Darusmanwiati, in the grave, people who receive the blessings of the grave will meet other pious people as if they were living in the world.
As explained in a hadith, Rasulullah SAW said, "Indeed, if the spirit of a pious believer is removed, he will be met by the spirits of other pious servants of Allah, just as humans meet each other in the world.
The spirits said, 'Let your recently deceased brother rest first, because he has just finished experiencing great anxiety. After that they asked how the so-and-so was doing, what the so-and-so (woman) had done, was the woman married?
When the spirits asked about someone who had died before the new spirit, the spirits of the pious person said, 'Innâ lillâhi wa inna ilaihi râji'ûn, apparently he has now gone to the Hawiyyah hell, he is the worst place to return and as bad as teaching." (HR Ibnu AbidDunya)
There is another history which explains that when a person dies, he will meet the spirits of his believing family. Narrated from Abu Qasim Abdurrahman RA, Rasulullah SAW said, "When a believing servant dies, his spirit meets the spirits of believers." (HR Judge)
Not only can they meet their families, people who are already in the grave can also recognize and remember each other. This has been explained in the hadith narrated by Ibn Abid-Dunya from Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Buzaigh, from Fudhail bin Sulaiman An-Numairi, from Yahya bin Abdurrahman bin Abu Labibah from his grandfather who said,
"When Bisyr bin Al-Bara' bin Ma'rur died, I actually saw joy radiating from Umm Bisyr's face. She said, 'O Messenger of Allah, she always hoped that she would die before Bani Salamah. Then, can the dead people know each other, so that I can send greetings to him?'
He answered, 'That's right. By me who is in His hands, O Umm Bisyr, they know each other as the birds in the treetops also know each other'." From the explanation that has been presented, when in the grave, Muslims can meet and remember their family and relatives. Note that they are among the groups that receive grave blessings. Apakah di Alam Kubur Bisa Bertemu Keluarga?

- Ketika meninggal dunia, manusia akan menuju alam kubur atau alam barzah. Lalu, apakah di alam kubur nanti bisa bertemu dengan anggota keluarga lainnya?
Di alam kubur kelak, manusia akan mendapatkan balasan berupa nikmat atau siksa kubur. Nikmat atau siksa kubur tersebut diberikan sesuai dengan amal perbuatannya selama hidup di dunia. Mohamad As'adi Bin Tawi dalam buku Astaghfirullah, Pedihnya Siksa Kubur Atas Kaum Wanita menjelaskan, bagi orang-orang yang mendapatkan nikmat kubur, mereka seperti halnya berada di halaman surga.

Di sana, mereka bisa bertemu dengan keluarga, kerabat, dan orang-orang lainnya yang seiman. Mereka yang tidak mendapatkan siksa kubur (anak, cucu, kakek, ibu, bapak, nenek, dan lain sebagainya), niscaya akan saling bertemu. Sebab, Allah SWT mengumpulkan mereka di sana.
Mereka akan dikumpulkan di sebuah tempat yang sangat indah dan mulia. Di tempat itulah, mereka bisa bertemu untuk saling bersosialisasi dan berbagi kenikmatan. Sebaliknya, jika di antara mereka terdapat orang yang berada di halaman neraka, sudah pasti mereka tidak akan bisa saling bertemu. Hal ini seperti yang telah dijelaskan dalam surah An Nisa ayat 69. Allah SWT berfirman:
وَمَنْ يُّطِعِ اللّٰهَ وَالرَّسُوْلَ فَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ مَعَ الَّذِيْنَ اَنْعَمَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِّنَ النَّبِيّٖنَ وَالصِّدِّيْقِيْنَ وَالشُّهَدَاۤءِ وَالصّٰلِحِيْنَ ۚ وَحَسُنَ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ رَفِيْقًا ٦٩
Artinya: "Siapa yang menaati Allah dan Rasul (Nabi Muhammad), mereka itulah orang-orang yang (akan dikumpulkan) bersama orang-orang yang dianugerahi nikmat oleh Allah, (yaitu) para nabi, para pencinta kebenaran, orang-orang yang mati syahid, dan orang-orang saleh. Mereka itulah teman yang sebaik-baiknya."
Dikutip dari buku Mengintip Alam Gaib karya Aep Saepulloh Darusmanwiati, di alam kubur nanti, orang yang mendapat nikmat kubur akan saling bertemu dengan orang-orang saleh lainnya layaknya hidup di dunia.
Sebagaimana yang telah diterangkan pada sebuah hadits, Rasulullah SAW bersabda, "Sesungguhnya roh seorang mukmin yang saleh apabila dicabut, ia akan ditemui oleh roh-roh para hamba Allah yang saleh lainnya, sebagaimana manusia saling bertemu di dunia.
Roh-roh itu berkata, 'Biarkan saudara kamu yang baru meninggal itu sehingga ia istirahat terlebih dahulu, karena dia baru selesai menjalani kegelisahan luar biasa. Setelah itu mereka menanyakan kabar si fulan, apa yang telah dilakukan oleh si fulanah (perempuan), apakah si wanita itu telah menikah?
Apabila roh-roh itu menanyakan seseorang yang telah meninggal sebelum roh baru tadi, roh-roh orang saleh itu berkata, 'Innâ lillâhi wa inna ilaihi râji'ûn, ia ternyata kini telah pergi menuju neraka Hawiyyah, dia adalah sejelek-jelek tempat kembali dan sejelek-jelek pengajaran'." (HR Ibnu Abid Dunya)
Terdapat riwayat lain yang menerangkan apabila seseorang meninggal, ia akan bertemu roh keluarganya yang beriman. Diriwayatkan dari Abu Qasim Abdurrahman RA, Rasulullah SAW bersabda, "Apabila seorang hamba mukmin meninggal dunia, maka rohnya bertemu dengan roh orang-orang beriman." (HR Hakim)
Tak hanya dapat bertemu keluarganya, orang yang sudah di alam kubur juga bisa mengenali dan mengingat satu sama lain. Hal ini telah diterangkan dalam hadits yang diriwayatkan Ibnu Abid-Dunya dari Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Buzaigh, dari Fudhail bin Sulaiman An-Numairi, dari Yahya bin Abdurrahman bin Abu Labibah dari kakeknya yang mengatakan, "Ketika Bisyr bin Al-Bara' bin Ma'rur meninggal dunia, aku justru melihat kegembiraan memancar dari muka Ummu Bisyr. Dia berkata, 'Wahai Rasulullah, dia senantiasa berharap agar meninggal lebih dahulu dari Bani Salamah.
Lalu, apakah orang-orang yang sudah meninggal itu bisa saling mengenal, sehingga aku dapat mengirimkan salam kepadanya?'
Beliau menjawab, 'Benar. Demi diriku yang ada di tangan-Nya wahai Ummu Bisyr, mereka saling mengenal sebagaimana burung di pucuk pohon yang juga saling mengenal'."
Dari penjelasan yang telah dipaparkan, ketika di alam kubur nanti, muslim dapat bertemu dan mengingat keluarga dan sanak saudara. Dengan catatan, mereka termasuk golongan yang termasuk mendapat nikmat kubur. Wallahu a'lam.
