151 Healthy Nusantara Health Workers Ready to Serve in Remote Areas A total of 151 health workers (Nakes)
Participating in Nusantara Sehat (NS) team-based are ready to serve in remote areas of Indonesia. Health workers who have passed the Nusantara Sehat selection have received briefing with the blended learning method from September 23 to November 1, 2022. The debriefing includes medical and non-medical skills including leadership, managerial, and communication training, as well as understanding of local cultures.
The blended learning method is online and virtual learning as well as classical. For debriefing through online with Independent and collaborative Learning methods through the Learning Management System (LMS) of BBPK Ciloto.
The participants were divided into 28 teams according to the number of Puskesmas placements, each accompanied by a trainer from BBPK Ciloto. The virtual debriefing was carried out with the help of the Zoom Meeting application, accompanied by a team of facilitators from the program unit at the Ministry of Health.
The NS health workers work in teams periodically for 2 years in the health care system at the Puskesmas. They serve as assistants and providers of health services, as well as program strengthening.
151 NS participants consisted of 25 medical laboratory technology experts, 3 midwives, 19 general practitioners, 20 dentists, 8 nurses, 20 pharmacists, 21 nutrition workers, 25 environmental health workers, and health workers. Community 10 people. They work in 28 Puskesmas with Remote and Very Remote status spread over 23 regencies in 11 provinces.
The debriefing program was officially closed by the Deputy Minister of Health, Prof. dr. Dante Saksono Harbuwono on Tuesday (1/11).
The Indonesian Ministry of Health is committed to transforming health through six pillars, one of which is the transformation of Health Human Resources which is the basic foundation in providing affordable and quality health services.
Prof. Dante said that one of the ways is that good health human resources management is needed to ensure quality health human resources. It starts from planning, providing, utilizing, improving quality, as well as coaching and supervising health human resources.
“The NS program is required to meet the needs of the type and number of qualifications of health workers in the short term. And on an ongoing basis this NS program is part of the policy of equitable access to quality health in the long term,” said Prof. Dante when closing the NS team based briefing.
Prof. said. Dante, what will be done by the brothers in the assignment is an extraordinary thing, even though it is far from family and friends but I am sure you will be able to go through all the processes well that will benefit everyone.
“My first message is always to cultivate the nature to serve the community sincerely so as to eliminate all feelings and burdens that may arise. Secondly, enjoy the process that you go through with your teammates to always be enthusiastic and continue to work together to carry out all tasks," he added.
The NS program aims to increase public access to health services throughout the country.
The role of health workers in Puskesmas is very important to keep the community healthy, especially through prevention, detection and response in disease prevention and control. The Puskesmas is also expected to be able to realize community independence through community empowerment in improving community health status.
Through the Nusantara Sehat program, essential/primary services such as examination of pregnant women, immunization for toddlers, monitoring of child growth and development, and so on can still run while following health protocols.
