Commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness Month, People Are Invited to Actively Do BSE and SADANIS

In commemoration of the month of caring for breast cancer, Mrs. Ida Budi G. Sadikin accompanied Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo and Mrs. Wury Ma'ruf Amin to review the socialization of breast self-examination (SADARI) which was held at the Jambi Governor's Office House, on Thursday (20/10).
This socialization aims to increase awareness of Family Welfare and Empowerment cadres as well as the general public about the importance of early detection of breast cancer, which is the most common cancer in Indonesia.

"Aims to find lumps and other signs in the breast as early as possible so that action can be taken as soon as possible," said Ibu Ida
Ibu Ida explained that BSE and SADANIS are routine breast examinations every month.
BSE is a breast self-examination, so it does not require special tools. BSE is done by feeling and looking at your own breasts. If during the examination found a lump or change in the breast can be detected early. Therefore it is important to do BSE for 7-10 days every month after menstruation
"By doing it regularly, we can know if there is something different with our breasts, so we can immediately do a follow-up examination," explained Ibu Ida. SADANIS or clinical breast examination must be carried out by health workers, either doctors, midwives, or other trained health workers. Performed from breast inspection to palpation of the entire breast area.
He again emphasized that early detection of breast cancer is very important considering that this disease is very difficult to cure.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer. In 2020, new cases of breast cancer reached 65,858 cases and the number of deaths was 22,430 people.
In addition, about 60-70% of breast cancer patients in Indonesia are diagnosed at an advanced stage (III and IV). This results in a low quality of life for sufferers and an increasingly large financial burden.

For this reason, his party appreciates the activities carried out by PKK cadres as an important part to minimize the risk of breast cancer.
“I thank you once again because it is the women who are the cadres who spearhead the health of the people in the villages. So the spirit of the cadres is always, we OASE mothers here will always support all of you, "said Mrs. Ida.

Finally, Mrs. Ida hopes that this BSE socialization and education activity will not be carried out only during the Breast Cancer Care Month, but can be continued by involving all parties so that they can reach the wider community, especially women.
