-- The following surgical services covered by BPJS Health need to be known by participants whose membership status is registered as active.
The Health Social Security Administering Agency (BPJS) is a health insurance program intended for all Indonesian people. The aim of BPJS Health is to provide access to quality and affordable health services for the Indonesian people.
One of the health services covered by BPJS Health is surgical services, both major and minor operations.
However, this type of surgery is only intended for treatment. Apart from that, cosmetics, aesthetics and operations abroad are not covered by BPJS Health.
List of surgical services covered by BPJS Health
Based on the Guidelines for Implementing National Health Insurance (JKN) in Minister of Health Regulation (PMK) Number 28 of 2014, the following is a list of operational services covered by BPJS Health.

Surgical procedures covered by BPJS Health
All active BPJS Health participants can receive equivalent and equal health services and insurance.
However, to be able to receive surgery from BPJS Health, participants must follow the procedures according to applicable regulations. Here's the procedure:
Make sure you get treatment at a first-level health facility (puskesmas, clinic or general practitioner) according to what is recorded in BPJS Health.
Doctors from first level health facilities will later issue a referral letter if the diagnosis of the disease requires surgery.
The treating doctor will make a referral letter for surgery to a specialist department at the hospital.
This referral letter is useful as a further screening of the patient's condition when treated by a specialist doctor at the hospital.
If the patient's condition allows for surgery, the specialist doctor will immediately make a surgery schedule.
Then it is certain that the patient concerned will immediately receive surgery according to the diagnosis.
Patients with emergency conditions can still receive surgery covered by BPJS Health even without a referral letter.
Patients can be transferred to the Emergency Department (IGD) to receive help first.
The criteria for an emergency will be determined by the targeted health service.

-- Layanan operasi yang ditanggung BPJS Kesehatan berikut perlu diketahui oleh para peserta yang status keanggotaannya terdaftar aktif.
Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial (BPJS) Kesehatan merupakan program jaminan kesehatan yang diperuntukkan bagi seluruh masyarakat Indonesia.
Tujuan dari BPJS Kesehatan ini yaitu untuk memberikan akses layanan kesehatan berkualitas dan terjangkau bagi masyarakat Indonesia.
Salah satu layanan kesehatan yang ditanggung oleh BPJS Kesehatan adalah layanan operasi, baik itu operasi besar maupun operasi kecil.
Akan tetapi, jenis operasi tersebut hanya diperuntukkan bagi tindakan pengobatan. Di luar itu, seperti yang bersifat kosmetika, estetika, dan operasi di luar negeri tidak ditanggung oleh BPJS Kesehatan.
Daftar layanan operasi yang ditanggung BPJS Kesehatan
Berdasarkan Pedoman Pelaksanaan Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (JKN) dalam Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan (PMK) Nomor 28 Tahun 2014, berikut daftar layanan operasi yang ditanggung BPJS Kesehatan.

Prosedur operasi yang ditanggung BPJS Kesehatan
Seluruh peserta BPJS Kesehatan aktif dapat memperoleh layanan serta jaminan kesehatan yang setara dan sama.
Namun, untuk bisa mendapatkan tindakan operasi dari BPJS Kesehatan, peserta harus mengikuti prosedur sesuai aturan yang berlaku. Berikut prosedurnya:
Pastikan Anda melakukan pengobatan di faskes tingkat pertama (puskesmas, klinik, atau dokter umum) sesuai yang terdata di BPJS Kesehatan.
Dokter dari faskes tingkat pertama nantinya akan merilis surat rujukan apabila diagnosis penyakitnya memang memerlukan tindakan operasi.
Dokter yang menangani akan membuat surat rujukan operasi ke bagian spesialis di rumah sakit.
Surat rujukan tersebut berguna sebagai skrining lanjutan kondisi pasien ketika ditangani dokter spesialis di RS.
Apabila kondisi pasien memungkinkan untuk menjalani operasi, maka dokter spesialis akan segera membuatkan jadwal operasi.
Kemudian pasien bersangkutan dipastikan akan segera mendapat tindakan operasi sesuai diagnosis.
Pasien dengan kondisi darurat juga tetap bisa memperoleh tindakan operasi yang ditanggung BPJS Kesehatan meski tanpa surat rujukan.
Pasien dapat dialihkan ke bagian Instalasi Gawat Darurat (IGD) supaya mendapat pertolongan terlebih dulu.
Kriteria kegawatdaruratan tersebut akan ditentukan oleh pihak layanan kesehatan yang dituju.
Demikian daftar layanan operasi yang ditanggung BPJS Kesehatan 2024. Dengan program ini, masyarakat dapat memperoleh akses layanan kesehatan yang lebih baik dan meringankan beban biaya kesehatan yang harus ditanggung.
