How to Treat Hollow Feet, Consult a Doctor

Pitted soles of the feet (pitted keratolysis) is a condition where small holes form on the surface of the soles of the feet. This condition is usually caused by certain bacterial infections, especially Corynebacterium species and other bacteria, which cause the shedding of dead skin cells and cause small holes in the skin.

Common symptoms associated with perforated soles include small, visible holes on the surface of the skin, especially around the soles of the feet and between the toes. In addition, the affected skin usually becomes white or grayish in color. This condition can also be accompanied by an unpleasant odor on the feet.

Treatment for hollow soles usually involves the use of antibacterial creams or ointments containing agents such as salicylic acid, benzoic acid, or topical antibiotics such as erythromycin. In addition, maintaining foot hygiene, using clean and dry footwear, and avoiding excessive moisture can help reduce the risk of infection and speed up healing.

If the symptoms of hollow feet are persistent or do not respond to home treatment, it is recommended to consult a doctor or dermatologist for further evaluation and appropriate treatment.
